About The Avenues
The Avenues sits on the bench northeast of downtown Salt Lake City, climbing gently toward the foothills. The streets run alphabetically from A Street to U Street, lined with Victorian and craftsman homes built between the 1880s and 1940s. It is one of the oldest residential neighborhoods in Utah.
What makes The Avenues unusual for Salt Lake City is its urban density. You can walk to coffee shops, the farmers market, City Creek Canyon, and the Capitol in the same morning. Turnover is low and demand is consistent. The supply of 1890s houses is fixed.
The market figures on this page are Salt Lake City citywide, and I keep the full set on its own page, where every figure carries its source and its pull date: Salt Lake City market page.
Figures cover Salt Lake City citywide. Source: UtahRealEstate.com weekly export, pulled September 7, 2026. Rate from FRED, as of September 3, 2026. Supply uses closings from June 1 through August 31, 2026. Closed-sale medians use August 8, 2025 through September 4, 2026. The market check below reads from this same pull.

The citywide supply behind the comparison
Salt Lake City has 3.6 months of supply across property types; detached single-family homes have 2.7 months. These are citywide figures. For the Avenues, I check the competing homes around the property before drawing a pricing conclusion.
Use the right price reference
The citywide median asking price is $539K; the detached single-family median is $690K. The property type matters. Neither figure measures the Avenues on its own, so I pull nearby comps before we discuss a price.
Price it right the first time
Citywide recorded sales had a median of 33 days on market. That is historical context. For a home in the Avenues, I compare nearby closed sales with today's competing listings before recommending a launch price.
Why Buyers Choose The Avenues
Historic Architecture
Victorian cottages and brick foursquares, most built over a century ago. The detail survives. Buyers who want that era of craftsmanship tend to start their search here.
City Creek Canyon Access
The canyon mouth is steps from the neighborhood. Running trails and a quiet road climb from there. You don't need a car. That matters more than it sounds.
Walk to Everything
Downtown Salt Lake, the Capitol, Liberty Park, and Temple Square are all within easy walking or biking distance. The gridded streets make it an easy neighborhood to cover on foot.

An 1890s Victorian does not price like a 1940s cottage two doors down. I run my own comps, street by street, and I can show you what recent sales support. Start with the numbers.
